Basketball Competition

On Monday afternoon, a team made up for Year 5 & 6s students competed in the local area Basketball tournament at The Bay secondary site. The teams were split into two groups, the team played against Nettlestone losing 4-1 in a very tight game. They then played Bembridge A and started to settle into the game, playing some brilliant Basketball, unfortunately Bembridge scored a late basket to win the match 12-10. This left The Bay 3rd in the group. The team were given the opportunity to play two more matches. They won 8-6 against Broadlea, and 8-0 against Bembridge B, therefore leaving The Bay 5th overall.

Top scorers Filip and Maison scored 5 baskets each throughout the game with Maison scoring the winner in a very exciting match against Broadlea. Goals from Matthew and Kian, as well as a brilliant lay-up from Archie added to the overall goal tally. The whole team worked really well together, they took shooting opportunities, and always got back to defend. Well done The Bay!
