On Thursday afternoon, children from across KS2 took part in the East Wight Cross Country competition at Bembridge’s Steyne Park. It was a truly wonderful event with The Bay not only showing off their running talent, but their team spirit. Throughout each race, which was 2 laps of a 500m track, the team’s support for one another was amazing, and this helped to push the runners on to try their very best. In their races, all of the children showed real resilience, even when starting to tire, and in the relays they all worked collaboratively as a team.
Caitlin came 1st in the Year 3 girls race, with Morgan coming 3rd in the boys event. Bobby won the Year 5 boys individual race, and Neve stepped up to run in the Year 6 race, and came 3rd. Success came in the relays as well, with the Y3/4 girls team coming 1st and the Y5/6 boys team coming 3rd.
All of the children ran and supported each other fantastically, making themselves and The Bay very proud!
