Girls Tag Rugby

On Friday afternoon, some of the Year 5 & 6 girls had the opportunity to go to the Girls Tag Rugby Tournament in Bembridge. The girls were placed in a group with three other teams. The first game was against Arreton, the girls played really well, and held Arreton to a 3-3 draw. The next game was against Bembridge B, who looked very strong, the girls worked hard but sadly lost 6-2. The final group game was against Newchurch and despite having a number of chances the girls just couldn’t quite get the ball across the line and it ended in a 4-1 defeat. The girls played one last game against one of the teams from the second group. Despite the girls beginning to tire, they played really well, and worked hard until the end, and the game ended 2-1 to Bembridge A. Throughout the tournament there were some great tries, with overall Imogen scoring 3, Lilly scoring twice, and Indie scoring as well. Having not played any tag rugby since before half term, The Bay played really well, working hard as a team, and never giving up. Well done Team The Bay.
