Outstanding UKMT Maths Challenge Results!

Talented young mathematicians are celebrating after achieving excellent results in the prestigious UK Mathematics Trust (UKMT) Maths Challenge. A total of 23 students in Years 9 and 10 took part in the national competition, which tests problem-solving skills, logical reasoning, and mathematical thinking.
The UKMT Maths Challenge is renowned for its rigorous questions and high standards, with thousands of students across the UK participating each year. We are proud to support our students in rising to this challenge. Several students achieved outstanding scores, earning them certificates of achievement. These are the best results we have had at The Bay CE School so far. Three of the highest-performing students have qualified for the next round of competition called Grey/Pink Kangaroo and have already been allocated follow-on round accounts.
Four students were awarded an impressive gold certificate; Aleksander P, Elijah W, Rosie L and Mia S. This is highly prestigious and puts them in the top 10% of participants across the country. It shows exceptional mathematical fluency and problem-solving skills.
Mrs Moreno, Second in Department for Maths said
We are delighted with all the students who entered the UKMT Maths Challenge. This is the first time in 10 years we have had 4 students achieving a gold certificate. Their success highlights the effort and determination they have shown.
The school looks forward to continuing its participation in future challenges and inspiring a love for mathematics among its students.
