U10 Cup Champions!

After the success of winning the league, the U10’s played Gurnard in the Cup final on Thursday afternoon. Having played Gurnard last year, the boys knew they were strong opposition. Both teams started well, and were very evenly matched throughout the game. Callum had an opportunity in the opening minutes to sneak the ball in at the far post but it went just wide, this was followed by Max making a terrific save when their striker was through 1v1. Bobby saw a shot go wide of the post, and as the boys went into the second half the Gurnard goalkeeper made a brilliant double save after Tony followed in Kian’s shot. Tony saw two headers go just over the bar from two corners deep into the second half. The match ended 0-0, and saw the boys go into extra time. The Bay kept working hard, the goals just wouldn’t come, Callum saw another opportunity go just wide, and with seconds before the final whistle Kian’s shot was saved. The match ended 0-0 after extra time, meaning The Bay and Gurnard are both crowned U10 Cup Champions! The boys have worked extremely hard this season, and look forward to next season.
