Friday 20 June 2025 Year 6 London Trip his week, Year 6 pupils embarked on an unforgettable adventure to London—and what an action-packed trip it was! Their journey began aboard HMS Belfast, where the children explored the historic warship and learned all about life at sea during wartime. Next, it was all aboard The Clipper, zooming along the Thames and soaking up London's skyline. The cable car ride offered breath-taking views of the city. The children were in awe of the architecture of St Paul's Cathedral and Tower Bridge.

Friday 4 April 2025 Easter Bonnets and Gardens A huge well done to all of our fantastic pupils who made some absolutely wonderful Easter Bonnets and Gardens. Mr Denley and Miss Wells had the tricky job of judging for 1st, 2nd and 3rd place. Each of the children below were presented with an Easter egg for their incredible efforts. Well done everyone.

Thursday 6 February 2025 Dance Live Success! A huge congratulations to everyone who took part in Dance Live on Thursday 6th February. We came 2nd place with awards for Best Technical and Costume. The children were amazing and represented the school brilliantly.

Tuesday 4 June 2024 Remembering 80 years since D-Day Year 6 pupils represented The Bay CE School at Pentecost Sunday service on 19th May at Christ Church, remembering 80 years since D-Day. Lexi S, Layla-Mai C and Harry W read a poem during the service. They also took part in the unveiling of HMS Sandown bel plaque and information panel and helped to plant a remembrance rose.

Monday 20 May 2024 West End Workshop As part of celebrating our Dance Live win, we had a West End workshop on Monday. Yuki Abe, part of Wicked the Musical, came into school and put the pupils through their paces! All children loved learning a Wicked routine and even had the chance to ask Yuki some interesting questions about her career. Thank you Yuki!

Friday 26 April 2024 The Bay CE School are Regional Dance Live champions for the second year in a row! Pupils and staff at The Bay CE School are celebrating after winning the Southern Regional Primary Schools Final of Dance Live for the second year running. They are now 2023 and 2024 Regional Champions.

Thursday 21 March 2024 Winners - The Isle of Wight Sports Achievement Awards Last night, staff and pupils represented The Bay at The Isle of Wight Sports Achievement Awards. The event is always a wonderful celebration of teams, individuals and volunteers from across the island. We are delighted to share that we won the 2023 Isle of Wight Primary School Award and were praised, not just for our vast sporting achievements, but for our dedication to providing a wide range of opportunities for all and engaging with the local community. A huge well done to our pupils and our dedicated staff team.

Friday 10 November 2023 Winchester Science Museum Year 5 had an extraordinary day at the Winchester Science Centre in November. The day began with an early 6.45 start, and by 9.30, the eager children were immersed in a world of scientific marvels. From the depths of the ocean to the vastness of outer space, the children dove headfirst into a myriad of hands-on scientific activities. Applying their recently acquired knowledge of forces and revisiting Year 4's exploration of sound, they engaged in captivating experiments that brought science to life.

Saturday 8 July 2023 Mardis Gras Another amazing performance from the Dance Live club at The Bay. They were part of the Mardi Gras carnival today in Ryde. The staff and children have worked very hard over the past 8 weeks practicing the dance routines and making costumes. We are very proud of them all.

Friday 23 June 2023 Natural History Museum Trip Year 5 had an utterly captivating day at the Natural History Museum, exploring a bountiful array of magnificent exhibits that brought the wonders of our planet to life. From getting up close and personal with titanosaurus - the latest addition to the museum's collection - to marveling at the spectacular underwater and land animals, children were enthralled by the breathtaking diversity of the natural world. And as if that wasn't enough, they even had the thrilling opportunity of encountering a range of prehistoric dinosaurs and creepy insects, adding even more excitement and depth to their experience. Now, as we settle into our seats on the coach, exhausted but exhilarated after an early start and a long day of adventure and discovery, we reflect on the amazing memories we've made, and the invaluable lessons we've learned about the preciousness and fragility of our planet.
