Year 1

A warm welcome to Year 1!

We have lots of fun in Year 1. We use lots of practical resources to help us with our learning. We have a big focus on phonics in year 1 taught using Little Wandle and enjoy learning the sounds and actions to accompany them. In Maths, we learn strategies and resources to support us with addition, subtraction, division and multiplication. We also learn about shape, space and measure.

We enjoy learning inside and outside the classroom.

The year 1 staff team consists of Mrs Birch (1RB) and Miss Goodson (1JG) with support from Miss Chorley, Miss Frost, Miss Smart, Miss Carroll, Miss Ward and Miss Havies.

Home Learning

We share homework and home learning via Seesaw, which is a fantastic user friendly website.

Your child will be able to log in via their own unique user code.

Homework is set by class teachers each week to consolidate key skills in Maths and English. All homework is set on paper to reinforce presentation, handwriting, letter and number formation. Homework is set on a Friday and due in on the following Thursday.
