Year 1

A warm welcome to Year 1!

We have lots of fun in Year 1. We use lots of practical resources to help us with our learning. We have a big focus on phonics in year 1 taught using Little Wandle and enjoy learning the sounds and actions to accompany them. In Maths, we learn strategies and resources to support us with addition, subtraction, division and multiplication. We also learn about shape, space and measure.

We enjoy learning inside and outside the classroom.

The year 1 staff team consists of Ms Lycett and Mrs Meller with support from Ms Gillham and Mrs Chorley.

Home Learning

Homework is set by class teachers each week to consolidate key skills in Maths and English. All homework is set on paper to reinforce presentation, handwriting, letter and number formation. Homework is set on a Friday and due in on the following Thursday.
