Cyber Discovery Launch 2000 2000 The Bay CE School

Cyber Discovery; HM Government’s landmark cyber security training programme is aimed at 14-18 year olds in the UK. Last year, 24,000 students took part in the initial assessment, CyberStart Assess. From there, thousands of students progressed through the subsequent stages, CyberStart Game and CyberStart Essentials, before the top 170 students then participated in a face-to-face CyberStart Elite camp.

Students initially learn through a series of challenges, presented in the form of an online game. Participants are introduced to vital skills, such as ethical hacking, penetration testing and digital forensics in a safe environment, using language and concepts that they can identify with.

CyberStart Assess is designed to identify problem solving skills and logical thinking, and to spark an interest in cyber security. We encourage students with a variety of interests to give it a try.

Cyber Discovery is a key component of the UK’s National Cyber Security Strategy, providing young people with an opportunity to begin the journey towards an exciting and challenging career. With your support, we intend to discover and develop the next generation of cyber security superstars and, as a result, further secure our digital future. Please help us to achieve that goal.
