Important notice for parents regarding an online game called Momo 2000 2000 The Bay CE School
In response to information shared via Hampshire Police we would like to make all parents aware of the current online risk of a game called Momo. This is not suitable for young people.
The ‘Momo challenge’ has been designed to encourage young children to communicate with a creepy looking female character with scruffy black hair, protruding eyes and a demonic face.
Terrifying clips have been popping up in between videos on YouTube and other social media platforms.
It starts by getting children to do minor tasks like playing hide and seek, before escalating into turning on the oven and in worst cases, encourages self-harm.
It also warns children that if they tell friends or family about it, then they will be in serious danger.
