Year 9 students will sit formal hall based examinations during the w/c Tuesday 7th May. We use these formal examinations to prepare students as they move towards Key Stage 4 and the requirements of external examinations. Click here to view the schedule.
All students will receive an examination timetable and their individual seating plan for the exams. The examinations are for internal use by subject teachers to support them with how their students are making progress within key topics. There are key topics revision sheets available (click here) and these are to be used by students in conjunction with their class books to support and steer their revision.
Students will need to have the correct equipment with them for the examinations, this includes two black pens for writing, a pencil, appropriate calculator, rubber and ruler. These can be placed in a clear plastic pencil case. Students must be prepared and show they have their own equipment for the examinations. Students who are not equipped will be a focus through parental calls home to ensure they are prepared appropriately.
A reminder also that students have received information this week in assembly around the use of electronic communication devices during the examinations including mobile phones, Fitbit type devices, smart watches etc. These are not permitted into the examination halls. It is suggested students do not bring these to school during the exam week.
Please also support your child by checking during this week they have eaten well, have a drink of water in a clear plastic container and have had a good night’s sleep the night before each exam.
Many thanks for your support.
