Child of Wight 2019 Awards – Community Kids win the ‘Making a difference in the Community’ award!
The Community Kids group from The Bay CE School (Primary) were nominated for the ‘Making a Difference in the Community’ award. Representatives from the group were invited to the Child of Wight awards ceremony at Cowes Yacht Haven on Friday 17th May. All three children representing the Community Kids behaved impeccably throughout the evening. They enjoyed a meal alongside the owners of the Needles, who sponsored our award. They were personally invited by them, to attend their newly opened attraction in Sandham Gardens, as they wanted to thank all the children personally for their work in the community! The Child of Wight Awards was a pleasure to be a part of. Huge thanks to the Isle of Wight Radio. The event was very much celebrating all the hard work and dedication many young people on the Island have shown to others. We were the only school and group who won an award collectively for ‘Making a Difference in the Community’. To be finalists was an honour, to be the overall winner was amazing. Well done to each and every member of The Community Kids. We are very proud of you!
