World Book Day – Thursday 5th March

World Book Day – Thursday 5th March

World Book Day – Thursday 5th March 2000 2000 The Bay CE Primary School

This year, World Book Day is on Thursday 5th March to celebrate reading books, authors and illustrators.  It is held in more than 100 countries around the world. A key aim is to give every child in the UK a book of their own to keep.

We will be celebrating this great event by inviting children to come to school dressed up as their favourite book character.

Every child will receive a £1 World Book Day Token which can be exchanged at our Scholastic Book Fair between Tuesday 17th – Monday 23rd March.

You can join us in building your child’s enthusiasm for books well beyond World Book Day by reading together regularly and joining your local library if you are not yet members. For more information about World Book Day and ideas on sharing books at home, visit worldbookday.com. Children are never too young to start their journey with books, and the benefits of reading are enormous—so we hope, like us, you will use World Book Day to celebrate it with your child.

Scholastic Book Fair at School

The Scholastic Book Fair is coming to school

It will run from 3.15pm until 4.00pm every day from Tuesday 17th to Monday 23rd March (inclusive) and will take place in the school hall. It will also be  open for the duration of the parent consultations on Monday after school.

The Scholastic Book Fair provides over 200 top children’s titles from over fifty publishers, carefully chosen to reflect all tastes and abilities. With books starting from only £2.99, plus exclusive titles that you won’t see in the shops or at any other fair, there’s sure to be a book for everyone! Every book sold at the Fair also helps towards free books for our school.

Please can you bring cash to purchase books as we cannot process bank cards.

Remember, you can also use your £1 World Book Day Voucher towards the cost of your book.

We look forward to seeing you.
