U11 Girls league quarter-final

U11 Girls league quarter-final  2000 1500 The Bay CE Primary School
On Monday, our U11 girls faced Newchurch in their league quarter-final having finished first in their tough qualifying group. The girls had already played and beaten Newchurch in a close game at the start of the year so knew it would be a challenge! The team defended strongly as they have all season with Roxy helping brilliantly in defence for the first time this year. Some nice football was played by both teams in the first half with the Newchurch goalkeeper making some great saves from Evie’s long shots. Evie did finally make her way through their defence and smash the ball into the back of the net to make it 1-0. As the game went on, the girls faced more and more challenges with Newchurch pushing players forward to get the equaliser but Lily (in goal), Roxy, Gracie with the help of Julia, Evie, Lucy, Lillie-Kay and Sevval stood strong as a team to keep the clean sheet and ensure they progress to the semi-finals at the end of the month. Another great performance, well done girls!
