Many of you will have worked with Mrs James, who is our Family Liaison Officer here on the primary site. Her work with supporting our families is vital and she is an expert in signposting to external support agencies if parents, carers or pupils require this. We are very proud to announce that on Wednesday 6th October her invaluable work was recognised further with her being awarded the Laura Groves Award for Community and Family Involvement. This award is presented by the Adult Community Learning Service and is awarded in memory of Downside Middle School teacher Laura Groves. It is awarded to a member of staff from a school or early years setting, who has gone the extra mile in ensuring meaningful, long lasting work with parents and/or families in their school or setting. We are sure that you will all join us in thanking Mrs James for all that she does for our school community.
