The U11 girls got the opportunity to compete in a beach cricket tournament along Ryde beach on Friday. They played two group games. The first was against Oakfield, the girls did really well with Imogen and Amy both throwing the ball to hit the stumps, and then we batted well getting some good runs, meaning they girls won 219 – 200. The second game was against Newport, again the girls did some great bowling with Olivia hitting the stumps, then Demi, Connie & Ava hit some big shots when batting, unfortunately the girls did lose by 5 runs. All the teams in our group had won and lost a game so it came down to the amount of runs, we had 430 overall so topped the group. We played Newchurch in the final, all the girls bowled well again, Amy catching a fantastically hit ball. They batted well as well, but sadly missed out by 6 runs, losing 200 – 206. Well done The Bay on your 2nd place!
