Global Rock Challenge

The aim of the Be Your Best Foundation is to encourage young people to lead healthy lifestyles and to be their best without the need for tobacco, alcohol or other drugs.

Rock Challenge® UK is part of the Global Rock Challenge™ and is the foundation’s main activity every year for promoting this cause.

With the sad news that Rock Challenge was not taking place in 2020, The Bay CE School Primary entered ‘Dance Live.’

On Tuesday 11th February the Bay Primary team of 63 children and 18 adults  took part in the Dance Live event at the Portsmouth Guildhall. The team worked incredibly hard preparing for the event since September with rehearsals, costume and prop making.

Their story was themed on Robin Hood with Sherry Taylor and Ruby Brookes taking the lead as the outlaws direct descendants, robbing the rich to give to the poor. The children were amazing on stage. Their performance was dazzling, supported by Connor Banks and Jamie Cooke as the lighting team and a great Year 5 and 6 stage crew. Everyone had a fantastic day. The team continues their hard work preparing for the Sandown carnivals, Hulaballoo and other community events that will showcase their talents.

2nd Place…!!!! The Bay CE School with ‘Tattin Folke – Play from the heart’.

Wow! What a fantastic day we had. The children behaved impeccably throughout and represented the school superbly. Their teamwork and spirit of fun shone through, even at the end of a very long day. Their performance on stage was the best ever!
The whole team absolutely deserved achieving 8 excellence awards for: Choreography, Costuming Character, Entertainment, Lighting, Performance Skill, Concept, Set Design and Function, and Soundtrack.

Well done ‘Team Bay’ – your hard work and dedication has certainly paid off.
Thank you to Miss Carroll and all the staff and volunteers involved.

What an amazing achievement! Well done Global Rock team pupils and staff. Fantastic News!
