The Christmas period fills most of us with excitement. However, it can be a difficult time for those who are suffering either loss of a loved one or financial issues. The Compass Wellbeing Team at The Bay wanted to provide comfort to some of the families who need it most by putting together Christmas hampers. An appeal went out to parents, students and staff to donate hamper items.
The school was overwhelmed with the number of items received. Donations came in from students, parents, staff and even a supply of food from Morrisons, Lake. Last year the school provided hampers for 20 of its families, the aim this year was to beat this number.
The school was delighted to be able to send out 47 hampers to students and their families due to the generous donations received by the whole community. The hampers included essential household items but also luxury Christmas treats. Each hamper also included toys donated through the Isle of Wight Radio Toy Appeal.
