Following our earlier communication, and as part of our curriculum review, we wish to consult with our parents and carer on our RSE and Health Education provision. We encourage you to look at our RSE programme, delivered through the PSHE lessons to all students, as detailed in the letter and on our website (click here to view the parent letters) Our updated RSE and Health Education policy is available by clicking here or by contacting reception for a hard copy. Click here to view the webpage with more information about RSE.
Relationships and sex education (RSE) is the teaching of pupils about developing healthy, nurturing relationships of all kinds, and helping them to understand human sexuality and to respect themselves and others. Health education is focussing on teaching pupils about how they can make good decisions about their own health and wellbeing, and how physical health and mental wellbeing are interlinked.
Personal, Social, Health Education (PSHE) is a timetabled subject at The Bay CE School which not only covers relationships and sex education as well as health education but also units relating to society and our students futures, including topics on money, human rights and politics.
Please complete the Parent Consultation Survey by clicking here.
The survey asks for thoughts and feedback to this essential part of every child’s education.
The link will remain live for a two week period until Friday 25th March.
Within this period if you have any questions you wish to ask Miss Feltham, our leader of PSHE/ RSE, please contact her directly via bfeltham@bayceschool.org
We hope you do see this as an important opportunity to recognise the contribution RSE makes to pupil wellbeing and keeping children safe.
Wednesday March 23rd March presents an opportunity for parents to attend a Question and Answer session at the Bay Secondary site 5-5.30pm. All parents are welcome to attend for further questions and information about any aspect of the RSE provision and resources.
