What is exam contingency day?

“The designation of a ‘contingency day’ within the common examination timetable is in the event of national or local disruption to examinations. It is part of the awarding bodies’ standard contingency planning for examinations.

All students should be available until Wednesday 29th June this year as a contingency period in case any earlier exams need to be held at a later date.

Travel on school buses

If students in years 10 & 11 have exams in the afternoon, there is a chance that they will not be able to travel on the school bus as their exams may finish after the end of school. Especially on Mondays.

Individual timetables will detail the start time and the length of students’ exams. Students will be expected to stay until the end of the exam so alternative arrangements should be made.

If your child is affected by this and has a bus pass then an “out of hours” pass can be collected at Reception and used on a bus from the top of the Fairway.
