  Chance to Shine Live! – Session 3 Super Striker – Wednesday 27th January 2021 2.00 – 2.45pm

Thanks once again to all of those who joined our live session this week. We’ve had nearly 20,000 schools and
households join in across the two sessions so far! You can catch up below if you weren’t able to join us on Wednesday.

This week’s session will be on Wednesday 27 January at 2-2.45PM. It will be a Super Striker session, improving pupils’ ball-striking skills.

Click here for the link to this week’s session

The activities can be completed indoors and to take part you will need:

● Something to hit with, like a bat, a frying pan or a hardback book
● 4 items to use as targets, something that won’t break like plastic cups or empty tubs
● A ball or a rolled up pair of socks
● A wall to rebound your ball against with safe space around it
This week’s session will also feature the opportunity to do some pairs work as well if there is another person to do so with (but this isn’t a requirement and the activities can all be completed solo).

The session will be streamed on our YouTube channel: https://youtu.be/btflr02RzmE. Subscribe to our channel to receive alerts when we go live in the future by clicking here.

If pupils aren’t able to join in live, the session will be available to watch back in the same place.

Study outside the curriculum:

Our well equipped study centre provides excellent facilities for students to carry out private study before and after school. Study support sessions are held within departments to ensure that all students have access to additional help and advice should they need it.

Sport:

Students can take advantage of the unique sports facilities that we have available on site. With facilities such as; a climbing wall, athletics track, multi-gym and sports centre along with an astro turf, a dance studio and various pitches and courts, students can partake in a wide variety of activities and sports.

Performing Arts:

There is the opportunity to learn a new skill or showcase talents by taking up a musical instrument, performing in the school production or joining the Rock Challenge Team. Whether it be acting, dance, music or behind the scenes our performing arts department will inspire your creativity to flourish.

Art:

Students have the opportunity to develop their creative abilities by attending our art club. Exhibitions of work will be shown throughout the year and their talents are celebrated regularly.

Trips and Visits

Students can explore the world with confidence and build cultural links by participating in the many trips and visits that take place. This year our students will be participating in a New York, trip, a Paris trip, visiting London and heading to theatre productions across the South. We also have many educational mainland trips planned, including sports festivals and university trips.
