All students at the Bay CE School benefit from our strong pastoral care system which fosters a sense of community. Our professional team provide personal guidance and support. We have a culture of high expectation and respect.
Our comprehensive Year 6 into Year 7 transition programme, includes an opportunity for a 1:1 meeting with every individual child and their family as this ensures a smooth and happy transfer from primary to secondary education. Transition into GCSE years and when our students leave are equally important to us.
Every child has a tutor to guide and support them, giving parents a personal point of contact. Year Managers know their students well and ensure that they receive any support that is needed.
Our Compass Wellbeing department provides assistance for students and their families in a variety of forms, including bereavement, anger management, friendship groups, staying safe and protective behaviours. The Compass Wellbeing department can refer to external agencies such as CAMHs, School nurse service, Strengthening Families and many more. Workshops are provided to support positive mental health.
Our House System offers the opportunity for healthy competition and fosters a sense of pride in the school community. An exciting rewards programme ensures that students are acknowledged for their hard work and positive attitude towards learning (click here to read more about the House System).
Our in-house careers department offers advice and guidance to all students about further education opportunities and allows students to explore various industries to spark inspiration and ambition. We are very proud that 100% of our students go onto further education, training or employment.
Communication and leadership skills are developed via our student leadership programme; becoming a member of the school council, joining the student leadership team, becoming a student mentor or ambassador or becoming a sports leader ensures that students leave our school with the confidence and skills that set them up for life (click here to read more about student leadership).
